HeRog, spokesperson for the Covenant of Swords, issued the following statement on the Ubi forums:

It is time to officially announce the removal of the Covenant of Swords from the game of Shadow Bane. The Covenant has accomplished much within the game of Shadow Bane such as Placing the first town on any world in production, dominating the shard of Treachery until its population dwindled so that it was forced to close down, Placing the first town on the world of Corruption when it was opened and never having lost its capital on two different worlds even after near constant banings, to but name a few of those accomplishments. Nearly 90% of our nation has move on with the majority of that being into Wish beta. To our enemies I say well done. Playing on Corruption caused many of us to change our tactics, as those employed on our old worlds did not work as well here. To our allies I would like to express the Covenant’s thanks for standing by us when you were needed. In a world of easily traded loyalties it is a true honor to fight next to those that remember what commitment is.

Today the Crest of the Covenant will be retired and a new guild will be formed for those left on this world. I wish them luck. It would be nice if those that held so much anger towards the Covenant would not do so towards this new guild as they will be few in numbers and trying to find their way but we all realize that some will be unable to restrain themselves.

I would thank those Covenant members who helped so much in our success but the list is far to long and I am not so patient of a man. I hope it will suffice to say that as last night showed to at least one foe the Covenant of Swords does more than hold its own. I look forward to playing with the Covenant in other games.
