This Saturday 8 CQ participated in the alliance-led Molten Core event. The goal? Lucifron. We mowed through the trash mobs in MC rather quickly and reached Lucifron in about two hours (with one wipe due to a bad pull). Lucifron has two guards that have to be peeled off and killed before the raid can tackle Lucifron himself. Luci also likes to throw out mass AE curses and other such nasty effects such as a 2,000 point countdown effect--these must be dispelled quickly. Initially this led to the raid's demise two times.

After the second wipe, we tackled Luci one more time with a better strategy. Main tank set up against him, and the raid swung around the southern corner (bottom part of the picture below) to handle the adds and stay out of LOS of the curses. The main tank got heals from his healer group, which was standing exactly at the corner, and the healer group could get curse cures from the druids that were out of LOS.

I personally think had a Gnome such as myself not been tanking the great snake lord, then we would of all been doomed. Thankfully I was free, and the third time was the charm.

Mothi, PRX Druid, won the [color="#8000FF"][Cenarion Gloves]</font> (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=27124) epic drop. Celnathor, ES Hunter, won the [color="#00BB00"][Tome of Tranquliizing Shot]</font> (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=27113), which teaches the tranquilizing shot to use against Magmadar when he goes into a frenzy. Magmadar, the giant core hound, was the next target for the raid, who stood only 5 sets of core hounds away.

<TR><TD VALIGN="TOP">The raid cleared up to Magmadar and we decided to take our first shot at him. We took Magmadar to 70% our first wipe, and then 57% our second before we decided to call it. The lack of priests (we only had 6 by the end I believe) really hurt the raid, and had a heal rotation been properly set up with the needed priests, I believe I'd be posting about Magmadar's death as well. Oh well, next time we'll hopefully have more priests and take him down too. MC is now definitely farmable up to Lucifron though, and I believe the next run we'll cut our time down to 2 hours as we won't make the same simple mistakes twice.

Great job everyone!</TD><TD ALIGN="CENTER" VALIAGN="TOP">http://cadrequietus.com/photopost/data/504/33rohmagmadar.jpg</img>
