Last night was the first raid under our newly organized raid leadership.
Target: Undead Strat.
Mission: Loot, Loot and more Loot.
oh, and work as a team I guess :)
Participants:
Group 1:
Zorak - Glorious guild leader
Sid - PvE raid leader
Tantelus - Tanking and tanking related activities
Olorrin - Priest Union (tm) representative
Snoozer - Discombobulator ray addict
Group 2:
Titus - Off tanking and buff botting
Gwahier - Grinding rogue extraordinaire
Korok - The Dire Maul grinding expert
Antigravity - PvE expert
Madweaver - Healing, Narrating and All Around Good Guy
The raid started out with Sid dying on the first pull because his healer (I won't name names but he's a card carrying union guy) was allegedly busy trading for water and supposedly coudn't see Sid's health. We are still waiting for the trial result, but the union has the best lawyers and the blame will most likely fall on Sid.
After this false start, things progressed quickly but loot eluded us, leader rolling Banshee's Finger (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=20923), Devout Boots (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=22905) and Darkspinner's Claws (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=24442) from the 3 pylons bosses. Items no one could/would/should use.
We suffered only 3 casualties in the process.
Korok who went on a suicide AE run while I was drinking far away to get out of the Combat Bug zone near the pylon.
Sid who got owned by his internet connection. Surviving the ordeal but having to relog/reboot/re-exorcise his computer.
And myself, who made the mistake of healing Antigravity after he had pull half the instance, the mobs turning on me for saving him from certain death. How selfless is the work of a healer, sacrificing myself for the greater good.
Next came the Magistrate who tried to make peace with us but we didn't listen to his plees and quickly killed him. Appropriately enough, he dropped Peacemaker (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=37194) a decent polearm that nobody needed. So Titus grabbed it to 'test' to see how it compated to Barbarous Blade (http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=35869). (Although I think the test he wanted to conduct was how much he could sell it for to a merchant :) )
After that, it was the time to distpatch the fat slobs. We got 2 Stitchings (http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=20131) that went to people other than me ::.
It was then time for the penultimate boss for this first raid, the named fat slob Ramstein, who dropped a Band of Flesh (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=17566) for Tantelus. Finally! Our first useful drop.
The final event was somewhat anticlimactic, the Baron dropping so quickly that I barely had time to heal anyone. At least he dropped loot we could use. And by we, I mean our rogues. Gwahier grabbing his Shadowcraft Pants (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=17207) and Antigravity getting yet another dagger, Bonescrapper (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=24339).
This raid went really well, except of course for the lack of loot. So well in fact that I almost didn't have any incidents to report.
